Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Recall ("the app"), built and operated by Growth Medium AI Limited ("Growth Medium AI", "we", "us") — a New Zealand company based in Wellington.

By using Recall, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use Recall

You must be 13 or older. If the country you live in sets a higher minimum age for consenting to digital services (for example, up to 16 in parts of the EU), you must meet that age instead. By using Recall, you confirm you do.

You also confirm that you have authority to consult an AI about any dog whose profile you create — that is, the dog is yours, or you have permission from its owner.

2. What Recall is, and what it isn't

Recall is an AI companion that gives personalised guidance about raising your dog, drawing on multiple modern, evidence-based training schools. Its responses are educational and informational — they are general guidance shaped to your dog, not professional services.

Recall is not:

• A licensed veterinarian.
• A certified animal behaviourist.
• A substitute for in-person training, behaviour assessment, or professional care.

For:

• Aggression or any safety concern: Recall will defer to a qualified in-person behaviourist. We will not give DIY behaviour-modification protocols for serious behaviour issues.
• Health concerns (diagnosis, treatment, medication): Recall will tell you to see a vet. We will not give clinical advice.

If your dog is showing aggression, biting, or any other safety concern, stop using Recall for that issue and contact a qualified in-person professional. The same applies to any medical concern.

You are responsible for your dog's wellbeing and for how you act on anything Recall says. That includes supervising interactions between your dog and other people and animals — especially children. Recall is a tool to help you think — it does not replace your own judgement or the judgement of qualified professionals. AI responses can be wrong; use common sense, and when in doubt, ask a professional.

3. Your account

You can sign in with an email address and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google Sign-In. You can also try Recall anonymously before creating an account — your data is held against a temporary anonymous account, and carries over when you sign up. Until you create a full account, that anonymous data is tied to your installation: if you delete the app or lose the device first, we can't recover it.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.

You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials with anyone outside your household (co-owner support is built into Recall — use that instead of password-sharing).
• Use Recall to harm, mislead, or stalk any person or animal.
• Attempt to break, abuse, or reverse-engineer Recall, or to circumvent its usage limits or safety behaviour.
• Use Recall to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or contrary to its purpose (for example, content encouraging harm to animals).

We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

4. Subscriptions and billing

4.1 Free allowance

Recall includes a free allowance (currently around 50 coaching messages) so you can experience it properly before paying. When you reach the limit, continuing requires a Recall Plus subscription. We may adjust the size of the free allowance over time; if you're mid-allowance when we do, we won't reduce what you've already been shown as remaining.

4.2 Recall Plus

• Recall Plus is an auto-renewing monthly subscription, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play — whichever store you installed from. The exact price is shown in-app and in the store before you confirm; it's set in your local currency by the store.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. To avoid being charged for the next month, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• How to cancel: through your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• We use RevenueCat to manage subscription state across the two stores. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple or Google — see our Privacy Policy.

4.3 Price changes

If we change the price of Recall Plus, the stores will notify you before the change applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect. We will never raise your price silently.

4.4 Refunds

Because billing runs through Apple and Google, refunds are handled by them under their refund policies — we can't issue refunds for store purchases directly. We don't offer refunds beyond what platform policy or the law requires. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other consumer law that applies to you.

4.5 Fair use

Every Recall reply costs us real compute. Recall Plus is designed for generous personal use, not unlimited machine-scale use, so unusually heavy usage may be temporarily rate-limited to keep the service healthy for everyone. If you hit a limit, the app will tell you plainly — there's no hidden throttling.

5. Content and intellectual property

Your inputs. You retain ownership of everything you input into Recall — chat messages, dog profile, memory entries, feedback. By using Recall, you grant us a licence to store and process your inputs for the purpose of running Recall and improving it. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Our content. Recall's interface, methodology library, system prompts, and AI orchestration are owned by Growth Medium AI Limited. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them.

AI-generated content. Recall's responses are generated by AI models on each turn. You may use Recall's responses for your own dog-related purposes. We don't claim copyright over what the AI says to you. We also don't warrant the accuracy of those responses — see the disclaimers below.

6. Ending things

By you. You can stop using Recall at any time, and you can delete your account and all your data in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account) or via our account deletion page. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a store subscription — cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings too, or the store may keep billing you.

By us. We can suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms. If we ever discontinue Recall entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice and the chance to export your data.

On termination, your right to use the app ends. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Recall is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that Recall will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its responses will be perfect for your specific dog.

If you are a consumer in New Zealand, nothing in this section excludes or limits the guarantees that apply under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Growth Medium AI Limited is not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
• Loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
• Damages exceeding the greater of NZ$100 and the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, and it does not exclude your statutory rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 to the extent those rights apply to you.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Growth Medium AI Limited for losses arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of Recall.

10. Changes to these terms

We'll update these terms as Recall evolves. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app before they take effect. Continued use after notification means you accept the changes; if you don't, stop using Recall and cancel any subscription.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any dispute will be resolved in the New Zealand courts. If you live elsewhere, you may also have the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions of your own country.
